We cut the last link off our chain last night, then went to bed. A few hours later we were up and anxiously driving. Midnight is pretty late to be hanging out at the airport, but we happened to run into someone we hadn't seen in a very long time.
A VP at our school is a local hero for being a tooth puller. I find this very helpful, as teeth freak me out. Buckets of blood? Not a problem. Don't bones usually belong inside the skin? Bring it on. But an 8 year old's tooth dangling precariously and the world starts to go grey. So when Case's tooth started to bleed in the car on the way to school because it was so loose we walked straight into her office before we even went to class. A snap of gloves and a wad of gauze later and we were finished.
We spent New Year's eve with some friends. As they have 4 kids, all neurotypical, they had no problems handing matches to children (including Case) and sending them into the street to light impressive displays of firepower. Case appreciated their trust. I'm just glad nothing burned to the ground. Not Case, just a photograph I want to show off.
