Happy Independance Day

Our Base celebration of our country's independence was cut short last night due to Mother Nature throwing a major light show of her own. But no one here is going to pass on a chance to blow stuff up, so it was rescheduled for tonight.
The fireworks are all launched from a boat in the Sound, right off our beach, but it is late and it's very difficult to keep Case contained in a crowded situation like that. We are therefore quite fortunate to be able to watch the show from our front lawn.
It was a wonderful time, Case sat with us for a surprisingly long time before getting up to run around. He adorably would comment "Wow!" and "Cool!" and yelled about the colors.

The 4th of July has become so much more important to me since Marc commissioned. Free Speech means more when you are surrounded by those who make it possible. I feel so fortunate to live here, and to be so involved with my Air Force Family.
