Levitation

Levitation is totally possible if you free your mind and concentrate really hard.
Here is Case, drifting gently along the beach.  If you notice his tightly clenched little fist, he is bringing along a snail for the ride of its life.

Cooking with Case: Haupia Pie

Haupia pie is a delicious island dessert with a layer of coconut jell/pudding on top of a layer of chocolate.  Recently the three of us demolished one in one day even though Dad only let me eat two slices.  So instead of pumpkin pie (boring) they put me to work making Haupia pie.
Make a graham cracker crust instead of a traditional crust because regular crusts are impossible, not that good anyway, and you don't get to smash anything while making them.
Ask to play Wii Sports, you never know.
Microwave some coconut oil and butter.  Spill it casually, to punish mom for making you work your fingers to the bone.  Add the big bag of crumbs then wander away while it is pressed in to place.
Make the mistake of playing with too loud a toy and be called back to the kitchen.  Eat as many chips as possible before microwaving them.
 Stir frequently.
Wait until Mom's back is turned.
Fold in the whipped cream.  Ask if your parents would be amenable to playing Kinect.
Spoon chocolate mixture gently into crust.
Remember that you are working with chocolate!
Open a can of coconut, after panicking that you were going to use your coconut best friend
Stir with some other stuff.  Remind Mom that you can stir while playing Cooking Mama too (she has certainly forgotten you wanted to play video games by now.)
Pour coconut jell on top of the chocolate.  Spread whipped cream on top of that.
Loose your mind when informed that it's not time to eat it yet.  Use this to barter (successfully) for some video game time already.

Reading

Case likes to read stories to his fish.  We started out with Moby Dick, but the fish found that upsetting, so we switched to Cat in the Hat.  I didn't think it was much of an improvement, but the fish says the ending is good.
(The long sleeves are to keep him from picking holes right through his arms.  We have to keep the ac on for it to be comfortable.)

More beach, which could probably be the title of 2/3 of my posts for the next three years.

The calender insists that time is passing, but it's hard to tell here.  You have to look at other clues, like what migratory birds have flown in and what the surf is like.
We went to the beach this weekend and the waves were pretty big for swimming.
So we filled our time conversing with friendly honey bees.

Sea Life Park

Our grandparent adventure continued with a visit to Sea Life Park.
Case got to feed a sea lion.

He spent a lot of time watching this dolphin.  Also racing this dolphin.
Then a lady walked right by me hugging a penguin and I just died.
This guy was so close I could have scratched him on the head but I had seen his creepy teeth just seconds earlier.
Case thought it was awesome.

Turtle Beach

We went to our favorite beach today, where we saw lots of crabs, snails, caught a tiny fish in a bucket, and Pat chased off some idiots trying to catch a couple turtles.

The turtle was much obliged, and even posed for some pictures.

Possibly the last bike riding post for at least a week, maybe

So here we are, riding, on his brand new birthday bike.  With no training wheels, and no gyroscopes.
Just pure awesomeness.
