Birthday Cake

 Pictures of Case being awesome on the bike took priority over pictures of dessert, but rest assured that there was cake that night.

Bike riding

More pictures of awesome kid being awesome.  We turned the bike down to medium today, so less gyroscoping and more skill necessary.  It was a very good workout for me (he can peddle so fast!)

This video is our Gyrobike commercial, showing briefly how it works.  It really is amazing.  As you can see, if the bike is moving forward it will stay up on it's own.  It is a little harder with someone on it, as that is a lot of weight up high, but it is a great help without teaching bad habits like training wheels.  The hardest part is the start, as it needs the forward movement for the wheel to keep it up.  But once you are going it just gets easier the faster you go.

Saturday I thought there was no way this would work, that we might as well just go pick up the big trike.  Now I have high hopes that Thursday we'll be able to return the rental and Case can get his very own bike.

Birthday Present

 I received a phone call from Marc tonight while making dinner:  Come out front!

I was greeted with a smiling boy racing by me.

 We rented a bike with a gyroscope wheel the other day.  The first several days were really difficult.

 But things just came together today, and he happily rode until the battery gave out and things became too wiggly.

 Look how happy he looks!  Almost as proud as mom and dad :)

Ceramics

Case came with me to my ceramics class while off school last week.  Then we went again a few days later because he asked to go see the "spinning cups."  He loved watching people work on the wheels, no surprise considering his love of all things spinning.  He also liked helping me while I threw, under a more broad definition of help than I am usually comfortable with.  While I didn't get any pictures of him on the wheel for the obvious reason that my hands were really full at the time, he did get to paint a cool spider.

 Not a big deal to most, but he climbed it all by himself :)

Air Show

We saw the Blue Angels and other planes perform in Kaneohe this weekend.  Case absolutely lost his mind with the awesomeness of watching someone zip around acrobatically while we walked to the flight line. 

I lost my mind with the fun of shooting with my kick awesome telephoto lens. 

 The weather was extremely variable, so I spent a lot of time switching around settings in manual mode.  Good times.

 This was my favorite part.
