Strawberries

Today we went up to Crestview and picked strawberries. I was hoping it would be a cute and fun thing for Case to do, with the added bonus of bringing home fresh strawberries.
Instead Case picked ONE (1) strawberry, then ran around getting sweaty and red until Cody and Raquel took pity on him and fed him ice cream.

It did wear him out pretty well.

The Rooster says

Marc's tired post-trial feet in the background
Case went up a level last night and figured out, finally, how to point the indicator arrow on his See and Say.

It is so cute to watch him point at specific animals and identify them! I love watching him play now that he realizes he can make his favorite animals chime in on purpose. It is also great to hear him actually playing with the toy, instead of repeatedly stimming on the shotgun sound of the lever.

Sleep

Lots of pictures today, I know. But Monkey was being so darn photogenic while sleeping through the morning conference session.

This is pinwheel, his current comfort item.

Texture coating by Blankie.

What a cute little guy.
Second session he actually sat on my lap at the computer and watched the whole thing. WEIRD.

Muffins

Cheesy muffins for breakfast this morning. Case used his beloved egg beater.

Strange days

Weiiiiiiiiiiiiiird weather we're having here. Case and I have been outside for an hour or so, enjoying the break between rainstorms. But the thunder has started and so we headed for cover. It is loud and strange, like a kettle drum.I am so glad that the wind doesn't freak Case out any more, two years ago we never would have been able to go outside in wind like this.

It's really dark right now, but before we came inside the light was really strange. High rippling cloud cover that seemed to act like a giant polarizer making everything a little too vivid.

Totally tornado weather.

The funny thing is that this morning I got a phone call asking if we were being evacuated. At the time of the call it was beautiful outside; light rain, bright skys. Nope, no evacs, there is no planning for tornados. Hurricanes come with advance warnings-days and sometimes a week in advance. You have a crazy thunderstorm, then -tadaa! Tornado.

Breakfast

Nothing in the cupboards sounded tasty for breakfast today, but luckily Case got a nifty Disney-flavored cookbook recently during a rain-induced retail therapy session (5 inches in three days, we had to get out).

We make Dorry's Don't Forget Breakfast Cookies. Case, as always, was a great help.Note the beloved pinwheel on the table

And after MONTHS of constant nagging about using a fork, he insisted on using one to eat his crunchy cereal cookies today. Good boy!

Halfway through Spring Break. We can do it!
