Can you tell me how to get to Sesame Street?

Last night Case and I had the privilage to attend a USO show where Sesame Street characters talked to kids about parents deploying. My contact with the USO before this was really non-existant, but I left there feeling very impressed, and touched by the open armed support that the volunteers showed. We left with a big bag of stickers, books and videos, and information about things they and MilitaryOneSource can help us with.
I don't think Case got a ton out of it, we didn't sit very close because he wasn't really comfortable with the kid madness, and he doesn't understand what they are talking about. But he did stay and watch the whole thing, and was very good. One of us may have gotten a little sniffly when they sang "Elmo is proud of you".

This, of course, was Case's favorite part-volunteers handed them out at the door. Spinning lights, vibrations and sounds; the Autism Trifecta, as Case's Neuro would say. He slept with it last night.

I hope all the volunteers leave every show feeling like rock stars.

Pictures of the event-they printed these up for us and handed them out at the door as we left.

When you were telling us about the event, we thought it was a great idea. I can see that it is and Im sure it helps so many kids and their parents at time of deployment. What a great thing. The USO and all involved should be thanked and supported. We will for sure.
