First Day of School

Alabama gets a jump start on their school year, and begins classes on August 10th, much to both my and Case's relief. His Kindergarten has a staggered-start, where only 1/3rd of the class attends at a time for the first three days to let the students and teachers get to know each other better. Case's first day was scheduled for Tuesday, he was to have Wednesday off, then start with all the kids on Thursday.

I have no pictures of Case's first day of Kindergarten. The morning was filled with insanity and panic, with shouts to "find your damn shoes" and "stop screwing around and eat your cereal!" Case was tired and grouchy, sniveling at everything. No time and no mood for pictures, I dropped Case off at his classroom where he flapped his hands and screamed, charming! Pictures will just have to happen at the end of his first day. With a kiss goodbye I made haste back home and before the celebratory bubble-bath had filled, the school called.
"Case threw up, could you please bring a change of clothes?"
Crap.
With the low level of concern from the phoning party, I figured Case had been freaking out so much he threw up (not unheard of). But stepping into the office I immediately knew differently. He was a sick little guy, collapsed in the arms of his extremely kind Aid. So after a record-breaking 43 minutes worth of school year, Case returned home.

As far as we are concerned, our first day of school was Thursday.
My big huge boy! Isn't he adorable! And disease free!

Great pics, great kid.
I don't remember being that happy when I started school in Montgomery. I went to get shots for school, got stuck in both arms...and passed out!
