Zoo

This is Dusty, an Eastern Screech Owl. He came to the zoo through the Auburn Raptor Center, where he recovered from his pirate injury. He is a tiny little thing, with a body only 7 or 8 inches long. Check out those wicked toenails though!

So cute. Steve and I got online and looked at pics of cute owls for 15min after seeing this post. I love owls. It took me a few seconds to get what you meant by "pirate injury" though.

Wow, those claws make it easy to see how they rip their prey apart. We hear owls at night here and it is a cool sound to hear. I think they are just up the hill about 50 yards, but it is uphill, so I haven't gone up to look!
